I love old linens. When I lived in Jacksonville I would frequent estate sales and seek out the linens. I have a nice collection of old table cloths and napkins.
A few months ago my Aunt Gerry from Missouri came to visit me. I love it when she visits because she will go all day with me to antique shops. She loves to venture out to places I have never been. We always have a great time. While in Bienvenue Antiques in Destin, FL I found this pretty sage green embroidered linen table runner. It was on a table with lots of things on it, but I spotted it. I think it was $10.00. I love it.
It is embroidered with white poinsettias, but I don't care. I am going to use it year round. I love the crocheted border, too.
Several years ago at an estate sale I found these adorable linen napkins and tablecloth with beautiful embroidered scenes on them. I would love to use these sometime. I have them displayed in my white hutch.
Do you collect old linens? Don't be afraid to use them and display them. Don't just keep them in a drawer. Enjoy them.
Be Inspired! -Karol :0)

I have a lot of linens also, and I agree with you, don't put them away, USE THEM! There are so many great uses for them, they are great for decorating! They bring a lot of charm! I have some pretty lace ones that I hang over quilts! Thank you for posting your Great Find! It's beautiful!
What great finds. I have some needle point pillow cases that my Great Aunt Stella made. I named my daughter after her. And want to frame them so how. They are very dear to me. My Grandma also used to make doilies. I have a few and I love them.
What a great find! I love them too and find I am starting to pull mine out more and use them everyday, instead of keeping them tucked "safely" away in a drawer. That's no fun! LOL I think you could call those flowers almost anything. Let's say they are gerbera daisies, for example. :-)
Thanks for sharing, Barb
When i was a teen a lady hired me to iron all her old linens... I would watch Little house on the Prairie and iron linens. hah
The linen looks so nice with the embroidery. I read that it's coming back, but I never knew it went away. My daughter does cross stitch and that takes patience, I would think.
These look great !
