Outside Shower DIY Project

I have been wanting an outside shower for over 3 years now. It is so nice to rinse off outside after a day at the beach or even just from working in the yard before heading inside. It's also nice to use to rinse things off under, too.

It was very simple to make and hooks right up to my garden hose. I chose a big rain shower shower head. Now I want one of these in my shower inside!

I even installed a pull-chain valve.

It took less than an hour total to complete and all the parts I picked up at Lowe's. They also have kits, but they were out today when I went there so I bought all the individual parts instead. That's the way I wanted to do it anyway.

There's a total of 9 parts, plus the four brackets I attached it to my porch beam with and then the pipe tape I had to purchase that makes sure all the pipes are sealed together good. The only tools I needed was my screw gun for the screws to attach it to the beam and a wrench to tighten a few of the pipes together.

Please let me know if you want to give this a try at your home. I would be glad to share a list of things you will need and how to do it.

Be Inspired!

Karol :)

Hi Karol-
We installed a shower at our summer cottage on Lake Huron...it was the best thing we have ever done!!! It keeps all the sand out of the cottage, and everyone showers off in their bathing suits there after a long beach day...One thing we did and are happy we did was install a hot/cold valve-so now we can take hot showers there too-I highly recommend that!!!!
I love what you did-

I'm impressed. My outside shower is the end of a faucet.

A friend of mine did something similar, although she doesn't live anywhere near the beach. She just loves to lay out and tan and she said she always gets too hot. So last summer she installed a simple outdoor shower so when she gets too hot she can cool off quickly. It's also great for quickly washing off lotion and oils. I want one now too.
