Gingerbread Dream Homes

Today was the annual "Breakfast with Santa" at my daughter's school. My favorite part of this event is the gingerbread houses made by local chefs. This year there were a few that I could not stop taking pictures of. Above was a beautiful storybook cottage. I wanted to live in it. Every detail was meticulously made. It is a coastal/storybook cottage. Below are some more pictures of the amazing details...

Next is a Stunning Lighthouse! Complete with a cobblestone walkway. I want to live in this one, too.

This one was so cute, too. I love the pretzel stick fence. Sadie, this looks like your home!

It does look like my house! I tell you something, seeing all those fab gingerbread houses has inspired me for next year. My gb house this year is not very good at all. I was so rushed. I got the dough made, then it was another two days before I could cook it. I put it together, then it was another two days before I decorated. By that time I only had half an hour to decorate and hadn't bought half the sweeties that I'd intended to buy. So next year I am going to start planning it early and really make time to cook and put it together. I might even come up with my own template instead of using the one I use each year. And looking at all the detail in the ones you show, I think I need to put more effort into the decoration side of things too!

Loved looking at them. Thanks so much for showing the piccies.

I love Stinky's fish camp. :) Don't you always wonder what they taste like after all of that work? Probably much better to look at.
