Fabric Softeners

First of all, I live in a rental home, everything is pretty much decorated and there are just times when my decorating inspiration well is, well, dry. Don't worry I have read some great articles lately and would like to share some ideas soon, but with this post I wanted to share about the fabric softener I use.

I have been using the blue bottle to the left for several years. I swore I would never switch. Ever. It is Downy's Simple Pleasures in the Water Lily and Jasmine scent. It is heavenly. Combined with the dryer sheets and everything in my home smells good. I actually love the smell of lavender, but they mix it with vanilla (in the purple bottle) and I just don't care for the combination.

Well, the last time I was at Wal Mart they were out of my fabric softener. This has happened before. For some reason the scent I like is not always stocked like the purple and green bottles are. I don't care for vanilla scented things ( as I explained above) so I have not tried a lot of of the different scents. Well, I started sniffing bottles to see what I could "settle" with until they restocked the Water Lily and Jasmine. Then I discovered my new fabric softener. The one I swear I will not switch from!

And here it is. It is also made by Downy. The scent is Aloe and White Lilac and it smells so good. I didn't sniff another bottle of softener after this one. I love it. Until Wal Mart does not stock this and I have to "settle" for something else, this is my fabric softener for life. They also have a Chamomile and Lemon Verbena. Sounds yummy, but I did not try it.
Well, I hope this inspires you to try a new scent for your laundry!
Be Inspired! Karol

I found your blog from the nester. I see you are in Seagrove Beach. We just moved last year from Bluewater Bay- right on the other side of the bay. We lived off Whitepoint Rd. Isn't it beautiful there! I miss the beach terribly, although we can have a much larger home here. I love Bienville antiques and Smiths antiques. Could spend all my husband's money there. Nice to meet you.

I'll have to give that a sniff. I've been really lazy and I bought the Tide with Downy already in it.

I can't take that vanilla smell either!

Well, as the "blue bottle" has always been my favorite, too, I may have to break out of my box the next time Wal-mart is out of it!

Hi Karol, it's funny how we are set up in habit etc. Last time I ran out of Downy, my husband who was going out for an errand stopped at the store to get it. He took the Aloe & White Lilac by mistake & I was not sure I'd like it until I used it. It does smell wonderful & I love it. It was a great surprise. I love it & will buy it again. So I'll keep an open mind in the future & will try new scents in the future. Have a fabulous weekend!

I'm not a big "faux vanilla" lover either. That chamomille verbena whatchamacallit sound heavenly though. You may have just swapped me from the regular pink cap.

HI Karol!
I too have problems with WalMart NOT stocking my things I need too! It can get frustrating! I will have to give this softener a sniff too. I love Downy!
