Have you ever waited until the day of a party to buy the gift -on the way to the party? Have you ever wrapped a gift in he parking lot of Target?, Wal Mart?, the mall? Wherever.
Do you ever remember to bring scissors and tape? Or did you have to buy ANOTHER pair of scissors or ANOTHER pack of tissue paper, or ANOTHER roll of scotch tape.
I wanted to share an idea with you that will save you time, money, and possibly reduce stress.
All you need is an inexpensive school supply container. The one above is just an old one from one of my kid's rooms from years before that they had to have for school. Most of the supplies you probably have already.
Do not. I repeat, do not cram all of this in your console or glove compartment. It will end up being a burden instead of a blessing.Suggestions for contents of Emergency Gift Wrapping Car Kit are:
- Small scissors
- Tissue paper in different colors
- Small gift bags
- Gift tags
- Small blank note cards
- Pens
- Permanent marker
- Hole punch
- Curl ribbon or other ribbon
- Scotch tape
This little kit also comes in handy just having the scissors, pen, and tape inside for other times. Ever try to take a Barbie out of the packaging in the store parking lot while your daughter is waiting, without scissors?

I LOVE this idea! Thanks for sharing!
That is a super idea. Just yesterday, I did the same thing to take a gift to a friend in the hospital. This would be much easier!
Hi Karol-
What a fab idea! I'll adopt this and get one started! Thanks for the tips!

That is one awesome idea! Yes, sometimes, I admit it, I do shop last minute and then I have to buy and bag and extra tissue paper that I don't need to make it pretty. Great thinking!
ps. I am new to your blog and love it!
I love this idea! I think I may have some of that stuff somehwere in my car, lol.
This is a 100% absoultely fantastic idea!!!!
Love it. I usually have to throw tape and sissors into my purse on the way to Target before the birthday party. Permanently in the car--genius!!!!
I think this is a fabulous idea! We already have an emergency 'basket' in the car. (first aid, water, granols bars, sleeping bag) But putting this back there will be ever so helpful!
Just found your blog -- I absolutely LOVE it! Can't wait to check in again!
Hello Karol, this is a great idea. When did you move to the Gulf C oast? We moved last January. I love your ideas & I'm glad to be able to stop by again.
Just saw this post today (found you through Nesting Place) and wanted to say what a great idea this is! I am normally wrapping presents in the car on my way to the event (so much for advance planning), but I've never thought about getting together a kit to make it easier.
Off to do this today!
This is neat, never thought of that. I think I may have to assemble one of these. Thanks
